Alphonse Stremler

Alphonse Stremler, FOUNDER AND CEO

Alphonse Stremler was born in Luxembourg in 1950 and graduated as a mechanical engineer from RWTH Aachen University in 1978.

Alphonse began his professional career at Klöckner-Humboldt-Deutz AG from 1978 to 1988, passing through positions as plant manager, assistant to the chairman of the board, division manager for medium-sized and large engines, and chairman of the management board of Klöckner-Humboldt-Deutz AG Paris.

In 1989, Alphonse Stremler moved to become a member of the Management Board (COO) at Techno Saarstahl GmbH in Völklingen. In 1994, he assumed responsibility as Chairman of the Management Board at Zumtobel Licht GmbH in Dornbirn, his focus here was to launch one of the first global pull and just in time delivery solutions in 24h.

Convinced that his innovative solutions could benefit various industries in supply chain optimization, Alphonse founded STREMLER AG in 1994, and since then has carried out more than 120 projects in 50 companies to reach new levels of efficiency, flexibility and responsiveness.

In 2012, Stremler Digital was launched to feature real time simulation capabilities and accelerate the improvement pace of the value chain. STREMLER now features a mature Industry 4.0 solution to organize and digitalize supply chains the smart way.

 

 
Lothar Maerz

Lothar März, CTO

Dr. Lothar März was born in Cologne in 1965 and studied mechanical engineering at the Technical University Darmstadt, followed by mathematical basics in engineering at the Ecole Centrale de Lyon, graduating both courses of study in 1993. He completed his doctorate thesis at Fraunhofer IPA in Stuttgart in 2001.

Parallel to his research activities, Lothar März passed through technical stations in the automotive industry, in production and logistics planning and control at DODUCO GmbH, 1993-1995, and at Dürr Schenck Engineering GmbH, from 2001 until 2004.

Since 2004, Lothar has been a member of the “Simulation in Production and Logistics” Expert Group and has been leading the “Simulation-based Optimization of Production and Logistics Processes” research group since 2006. With the experience of more than 150 industrial and research projects he launched a new simulation approach realizing a technological quantum leap in runtime performance, flexibility and responsiveness by creating forward thinking planning in real time with real data.

After a further activity at V-Research at Dornbirn as Division Manager for technical logistics, Lothar März founded, in close cooperation with Fraunhofer Austria Research GmbH Vienna, his own startup for high-performance, simulation-based planning systems LOM Innovation GmbH & Co. KG, which was integrated into STREMLER AG in 2012.

Lothar März joined STREMLER AG as a practice oriented scientist, specialist for real time simulation and optimization in production and logistics.

Dr. März is building the bridge between supply chain engineering and highly innovative technology in planning and control, implementing high performance applications in industry for practical, interactive solutions.

 

 

DIETRICH ZAPS, CHAIRMAN SUPERVISORY BOARD

Dietrich Zaps was born in Bad Gandersheim in 1950 and graduated from the University of Karlsruhe with a degree in industrial engineering.

From 1976 to 1989, Dietrich Zaps held various commercial and technical positions at Klöckner-Humboldt-Deutz AG in the engine and agricultural engineering divisions before being appointed to the Group Executive Board in 1989. There he was given overall responsibility for Deutz Fahr Landtechnik.

In 1994 Dietrich Zaps moved to Knorr-Bremse as Chairman of the Executive Board of Knorr-Bremse System für Nutzfahrzeuge GmbH.

From mid-1997 Dietrich Zaps took over as head of ThyssenKrupp Presta AG in Liechtenstein within the ThyssenKrupp Group. In 2004 Dietrich Zaps was appointed to the Executive Board of ThyssenKrupp Automotive AG and in his position as President and CEO of ThyssenKrupp Budd Company he was given responsibility for the North American business, based in Detroit, USA.

After leaving ThyssenKrupp Automotive AG, Dietrich Zaps was responsible for repositioning the KlothSenking (KSM) aluminum foundry group as Chairman of the Executive Board from 2007.

From 2009 until 2015, Dietrich Zaps took over the management and responsibility for the restructuring of Meritor Heavy Vehicle Braking System Ltd, in the UK, in which the European CV Truck brake business of the US component manufacturer, Meritor Inc. is bundled.

Dietrich Zaps has been working as an independent consultant since 2015. In addition to various consulting mandates, he holds seats on various supervisory boards.

ALBERT KIRCHMANN, VICE-CHAIRMAN SUPERVISORY BOARD

Dr. Albert Kirchmann was born in Hergatz / Engelitz in 1956 and completed his studies at the University of Karlsruhe with a doctorate in industrial engineering.

Albert Kirchmann began his professional career at Daimler AG from 1984 to 1990, as assistant to the plant manager for trucks in Wörth, then as Head of Costing for trucks and subsequently as Head of Controlling for passenger cars in Bremen.

From 1991 to 1997 he was Head of Controlling Mercedes-Benz in Spain and Export Vans. From 1997 to 2002 Mr. Kirchmann was responsible for Strategy and Controlling in the Powertrain division.

As Head of Finance and Controlling, Business and Product Planning, Albert Kirchmann left his mark on Daimler Trucks & Busses from 2004 to 2009 and became a member of the divisional Board of Management.

From 2009 to 2016, Mr. Kirchmann moved to Asia. In parallel to his functions as CEO and Chairman of Daimler Trucks Asia and President of Mitsubishi FUSO Truck & Bus Corporation, Member of the Daimler Truck Board, Chief Representative Officer for Daimler in Japan, he held board functions at the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce, the European Business Council in Japan and the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association.

Since 2017, Albert Kirchmann has been an independent industry consultant and Chief Executive Advisor / Chairman of A.X.K. Group. Mr. Kirchmann is active in several supervisory boards and advisory councils, as well as in non-profit organizations.

VOLKER ZIMMERMANN, SUPERVISORY BOARD

Volker Zimmermann was born in 1963 in Neustadt an der Weinstraße. After studying mechanical engineering at the University of Kaiserslautern, he obtained his doctorate in engineering while working as a research assistant. He completed the Advanced Management Program at INSEAD and holds the "Qualified Supervisory Board" certificate from the Deutsche Börse Group.

After gaining initial management experience as a senior engineer, he joined Voith Turbo in 1997. As General Manager, he led several business units until he was appointed to the Management Board of Voith Turbo and to Voith's Executive Team in 2004. In 2012, he moved to Knorr-Bremse, where he was responsible for European business as Chairman of the Executive Board of Systeme für Nutzfahrzeuge GmbH. From 2015 to 2019 he was the CEO of Washtec AG.

In the meantime, Mr. Zimmermann is involved as a founder, investor and supervisory board member for Start-ups and medium-sized companies. At the core of his work is the holistic transformation of companies with the aim of achieving a sustainable increase in value.

PATRICK STREMLER, SUPERVISORY BOARD

Patrick Stremler was born in Aachen in 1979 and graduated from the University of Karlsruhe with a degree in Architecture.

In his profession as an architect and entrepreneur, he assumes responsibility as managing partner of the internationally renowned architectural practice Dietrich | Untertrifaller.

Patrick is an ambassadeur for the sustainable cities approach and pushes the boundaries in the development of entirely digitalized processes in building design and construction.

He is supporting and accompanying STREMLER AG since it’s foundation. Since 2008 he has been member of the supervisory board, from 2018 to 2021 as its chairman.
